The emission performance of the ISOTHERM Pwr ® plant is already outstanding at the reactor outlet before the fumes post-treatment, e.g. TOC 1-2 ppm (1000 times less than standard incineration), PAH around a few micrograms, CO a few ppm, and no detectable dioxins or furans.
The incombustible ash is separated out quantitatively as molten slag at the reactor bottom. The slag is carbon free and 100% amorphous, and totally impervious to heavy metal leaching even with very demanding tests (acetic acid, CO2). The ash in the slag form, fully corresponds to the EPA recommended physical state for fly ash disposal.
